Got my Sodexo voucher from AIP Online Surveys

Do you know that you can have a Sodexo voucher by answering surveys? Yes, I just did. I got my Sodexo Premium voucher when I exchanged my Epoints in AIP Online Surveys.

My Sodexo voucher worth P300

How is it working? You just need to register at AIP Online Surveys and complete your details to have more chances of survey invitations. It is actually free, so don't you worry. Surveys usually will take around 5 minutes or more. If you have reach 2500 Epoints, you can now redeem it for a Sodexo voucher.

It took around 2 months before I received my voucher. Thank you AIP!

Boracay Summer Getaway

The waiting is over! Finally, I had a chance to travel in Boracay with my family last Sunday until Wednesday.   I won't bother much to tell all our adventures, but some glimpses and tips for a newbie traveler like me.

As we all know, summer is a jam pack season, especially in a tourist destination like Boracay and to avoid any hassle, we booked our flights and hotel accommodation as early as November and December. From all the hotels and inns I've e-mailed, Veli's Inn offered the cheapest price for a family room.

At the airport while waiting for our flight

Our flight going to Kalibo was scheduled at 8 PM, so to make it a hassle-free, we tried the round trip (van + boat) services of Southwest Tours. We made a booking through online, but you can also check their booth just outside the airport. From Kalibo to Caticlan Port, it was a two- hour travel. At Caticlan, SW Tours paid for our environmental and terminal fees and ferry boat going to Cagban Port. In Cagban, we were transported in our hotel.

Island hopping in Boracay  where you can do snorkeling
Veli's Inn is just near Crafts Convenience Store and Panorama Beach Resort. After checking in, we took a chance to have a glimpse of how Boracay night life was. Some establishments like bars, restos were so alive while tourists come and go. Warning! Foods are twice the price in Manila except those from known fast  foods establishments like McDonald's, Mang Inasal, Andok's at D'Mall.

Since this is a budget tight tour (just for me), we made sure that we tried some activities Boracay can offer. Our list consists of swimming, island hopping, snorkeling, bar hopping, watching fire dancers, fine dining and souvenir panic buying (cousin and sis). If you are more on the adventurous side, you can take some water activities. The 3-day vacation is worth waiting! White and Puka Beaches are just awesome. Even the atmosphere of well-known hotels gives a new view of Boracay.

As our last day had come, we decided to check-out before 12 PM to visit some attractions in Kalibo. However, when we got there, the day was freaking hot. We ended up visiting Gaisano Mall, where I bought some pasalubong. We went back to Airport two hours before our flight.

How to get to NAIA Terminal 3 from Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan:

1. Ride a van/bus from Tabang to LRT 1  Roosevelt Station. You have options to take off in Balintawak and Monumento, but I prefer in Muñoz.
2. Take LRT 1 going to EDSA Taft.
3. Walk going to SOGO Hotel, near  McDonald's and Chowking. At the back of the hotel and these fast foods, there's a shuttle bus going to NAIA Terminal 3/Resorts World. fare cost P20 only.
4. The shuttle will tell you off the drop off point. It is actually in front of the parking lot of NAIA 3. Just walk inside this lot.

How to get to Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan from Clark Airport:
1. Ride an airconditioned jeep from Clark to Dau Terminal.
2. When you are in the terminal, walk and look for the van terminal with trip going to  Plaridel/Baliaug/Pulilan. The last trip is around 9PM. If you missed it, then the next option is in San Fernando.
3. Another option: Walk outside the Dau Terminal, and look for the jeepneys going to San Fernando Intersection.
4. Drop off in Robinsons Starmill or in the mall terminal. and ride a jeepney going to Calumpit/Apalit.
5. Drop off in Calumpit and ride a jeepney going to Marilao/ Meyacauayan/Malinta.
6. Drop off in Eurobake.

Review: Catena Hand and Body Wash

It has been more than a month since I bought Catena Tea Tree Fresh Hand and Body Wash. After it was emptied and unavailable in Japan Homes, I bought Honey Moisturizing, another variant of Catena. So here’s my simple scoring for these variants.

Tea Tree Fresh
Honey Moisturizing
Ingredients
Aqua, sodium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, cocamide MEA, sodium (alpha) olefin sulphonate, sodium chloride, polyquarternium-7, parfum, coco-glucoside (and) glyceryl oleate, white tea extract, hydrolyzed collagen, disodium EDTA, citric acid, methylchloroisthiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, CI 19140, CI 15985

From these two, we preferred the tea tree fresh because of its long-lasting and fragrant scent than the honey. It can be simply compared to the lingering scent of a spa salon. I feel the relaxing power of the tea tree extract that’s why I stay longer in the bathroom whenever I take a bath.

Both have the same results when it comes to moisturizing and cleansing effect and non-greasy feel. Plus, for only P88, it is cheaper than other liquid soaps on the market. From our usage, 1 liter could last one and a half month.
Overall, I would buy any of the two but with preference for the tea tree variant.  Have you tried this product? How is it?

A taste of Figaro from Globe Rewards

When Globe started its reward points, I only earned around 160 points while hubby has 300+ last year. I was no longer interested to redeem it until I received a message from Globe that I can use them in any Figaro branch. The conversion is 1 point = P1. Gosh, I was so excited that I even requested my brother’s points to share it with me, hahaha. In total, I got 500+ to use. On that same day, hubby and I went to Figaro Malolos branch.

Globe partnered with Figaro
I was informed that I can order any dish/drinks from their menu, and the excess amount can be paid through cash. We’ve got an all-day breakfast beef tapa with free brewed coffee, classic flavored pizza and pesto pasta for a total of P518. To pay them, I just texted REDEEM space 10 digit Globe number and the amount.

All-day breakfast beef tapa

We only enjoyed the beef tapa as the taste is simply the Filipino style. In fairness, the pasta is good for two.

brewed coffee, the right partner of tapsilog
The pizza was just 7.5”, has few toppings and a sour taste. IMO, this is so pricey compared to known brands of pizza.

classic pizza
I want to indulge more with the pesto because of its basil aroma except that the taste did not turn out what I expected.
Pesto with toasted bread

Overall, my experience with Figaro was just fine. I would like to try other dishes especially the pasta.
